STG Presents Suzanne Vega at The Moore Theatre in Seattle on Thursday, February 25, 2010. With her sultry voice, Vega seamlessly joins poetry and contemporary folk song with a sound that is utterly unique and identifiable to her alone.
A pioneer among singer-songwriters, Vega has embarked on a project to re-imagine her own songbook in a stripped down and intimate manner. Volumes include, "Love Songs," "People, Places & Things," "States of Being," "Songs of Family." The Close Up Tour will be an incredible opportunity to hear Suzanne's exquisite and extraordinary music in the way it was originally conceived.
Vega will be joined on stage with longtime musical partners Mike Visceglia and Gerry Leonard as well as a local string quartet formed from members of Seattle Rock Orchestra. Local players will perform four songs with Vega and the performers include Andrew Joslyn (violin), Alina To (violin), Seth May-Patterson (viola) and Danah Albaum (cello).
