Seattle’s renowned TUDOR CHOIR perform Songs of War and Heaven, an exciting and moving program of a cappella British medieval, renaissance, and folk music, concluding with American composer Ingram Marshall’s thrilling Savage Altars. An epic tale of reconciliation in the aftermath of war, Savage Altars features narrative by 1st-century historian Tacitus, interwoven with commentary drawn from early English songs and chant. The New York Times called Savage Altars and its performance by the Tudor Choir “…worth the price of admission, propounding musical ideas, withdrawing them and finally weaving into a tapestry of sound that is abruptly cut off at its height.”
