Dance Theatre of Harlem

60 minute lecture/demonstration (approximately)

This lecture/demonstration focuses on the art of classical dancing, in a fun and accessible form to introduce ballet. Dancers will demonstrate and explain exercises such as jumping, turning, partnering, lifting, and dancing. An audience participation segment, when members of the audience are invited to the stage to try some of the movements, or test the similarities between social dance and ballet, is included. Throughout, excerpts from Dance Theatre of Harlem’s eclectic repertoire demonstrate how the elements that have been discussed come together to create the magic of dance. Click here to RSVP.

Disney Musicals In Schools Student Share Celebration

Disney Musicals in Schools through STG, builds sustainable musical theatre programs in under-resourced public elementary schools. The culminating Student Share Celebration is a special day to celebrate each participating school. All four 2016-17 selected schools will come together at the Paramount Theatre to share one number from the musical they’ve been rehearsing at their school. Silent Film Era Matinee

Step back in time to the 1920s at the historic Paramount Theatre! Hear The Paramount’s Mighty Wurlitzer Organ,

DANCE This is STG’s most beloved dance program which brings together scores of teens and community performers from varying experiences and ages to share their culture through the art of dance. Student Tours
STG offers free tours of the historic Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres for educators and students ages seven and up.
