JOIN THE SEATTLE THEATRE GROUP FAMILY BY BECOMING A VOLUNTEER!

The Seattle Theatre Group (STG) welcomes individuals who are interested in sharing their time and talents. Volunteers are vital in supporting fine arts education and community programs. By participating, you are helping STG keep the historic Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres alive and vibrant.

There are a variety of volunteer activities available to choose from. Come share your talent!


Usher: Provide volunteer support at performances in the form of assisting the Front of House staff, passing out programs, seating of patrons, answering questions, coat check, etc. Usher training is a prerequisite to participating in all other STG volunteer functions.

Friends of STG Desk: Before and during shows the Friends of STG Desk is open to assist patrons with the rental of binoculars and hearing devices, as well as answer questions and provide information about theatre education and fundraising.

Office Assistance: General office assistance for both STG Staff activities and the Volunteer Program.

Historic Theatres Library: Assist in staffing the library during visiting hours and help catalog historic data. The library is located in the Paramount Tower on the 4th floor and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Research: Research the history of The Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres for archive and maintenance purposes, working closely with the historian and library administrator.

Tours: Join the team that conducts tours for the general public, students, seniors and business organizations at the historic Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres.

Education: Assist in the development and expansion of STG’s educational programs.

Special Events: Help at fundraisers, opening night galas and other special events.

Organ Maintenance and Restoration: Work with the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society (PSTOS) to keep the Paramount’s historic Mighty Wurlitzer in top playing condition.

Translation: This “on-call” volunteer position is needed to help communicate with performers and/or their staff from a variety of cultures.

Volunteer Council: Provide expertise in the development and further expansion of the Volunteer Program. Candidates are nominated by current Volunteer Council Members.

Depending on the need, applicants may wait anywhere from 6 months to 2 years for training dates to be announced. After training and before final acceptance into the STG Volunteer Program, all candidates must pass a mandatory background check from the WATCH (Washington Access To Criminal History) program conducted by the Washington State Patrol.
