STG Presents Layne Staley Tribute 2017 at The Moore Theatre on Saturday, August 19, 2017.
On August 19th, friends, family, fans, and admirers are welcomed to once again gather in celebration of the life and legacy of Layne Staley. This year we honor what would have been Layne’s 50th birthday, also marking the 25th anniversary of the release of Dirt, by Alice in Chains.
The annual tribute show will play the music of Layne Staley at the historic Moore Theatre, featuring songs from Alice in Chains and Mad Season performed by Jar of Flies (the ultimate AIC experience), along with special guest performers from the Seattle music community.
The Moore Theatre, originally built in 1907, is the very stage captured in the Alice in Chains ‘Live Facelift’ and Mad Season ‘Live at the Moore’ videos, as well as countless other performances over the years.
Jar of Flies (the ultimate AIC experience) is a gathering of top Seattle musicians with a passion for live energy and true showmanship. In honor of Alice in Chains, the Seattle-based tribute band brings an authentic and powerful sonic experience. They do not try to look like the bands, act like the bands, or try to "be" the bands; they just painstakingly work to ensure that they sound exactly like the albums, and recreate those memories for fans like themselves.
