STG Presents "Transforming Pain To Power" by Daniel Beaty at the Neptune in Seattle on Thursday, March 13, 2014.
Daniel’s presentation will be preceded by a panel discussion led by Seattle Times journalist Jerry Large, with substance abuse counselor and artist Delton Mosby, and author and aide to King County Councilmember Larry Gossett, Larry Evans. There will also be a performance by YouthSpeaks Seattle spoken word artists Angel Langley, Travis Thompson, and Koha Farr.
The performance based on his book "Transforming Pain to Power" - his powerful, true journey from a childhood rife with poverty, incarceration, addiction and rage to the successful adult life he achieved as an award-winning performer, writer, and motivational speaker - Daniel Beaty presents the tools needed to overcome any obstacle and tap into full capabilities.
Project supported by NEA.
Daniel has performed his original work RESURRECTION and EMERGENCE-SEE in Seattle, presented by the CD Forum. He was also a featured performer with Dance Theatre of Harlem in Seattle, performing the premiere of his spoken word piece, FAR BUT CLOSE.
