STG presents Seattle Rock Orchestra performs Neil Diamond at The Moore Theatre in Seattle on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 2015.
This Mother's Day, Seattle Rock Orchestra celebrates the man, the myth, the legend: Neil Diamond. With a career spanning over 50 years, 30 studio albums, dozens ofhits and over 125 million record sales, Diamond is undoubtedly a monolithic figure in music history. Riding the line between sincere artistry and pure camp (and crossing it again, and again) Diamond's songs etched themselves permanently into our collective cultural memory. SRO will explore Diamond'sentire catalogue, performing hidden gems and revered hits alike, including “Cherry, Cherry,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon,” “I'm ABeliever,” “Cracklin' Rose,” and many more.
Seattle Rock Orchestra (SRO) was born out of the desire to marry the unabashed performance energy of rock'n'roll with the broader palette of musical nuance streasured in classical music. With a 50+ piece orchestra complete with strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, choir and a rotating cast of guest vocalists, SRO is embarking on its fifth full season of programming.
