STG honors Pride Month
The performing arts would not be what it is today without LGBTQIA2+ people onstage, in the audience, behind-the-scenes, and as leaders, creators, and storytellers. Their contributions must be celebrated and honored year-round.
This month, LGBTQIA2+ staff, artists, volunteers, and audiences of Seattle Theatre Group join the community in celebrating Pride Month! And all of us at STG are reflecting on the legacy of the Stonewall Uprising where human beings courageously fought for the right to be themselves. Pride Month is another opportunity to honor queer spaces, and continue our own work to keep striving toward our vision as The People's Theatre. At Seattle Theatre Group's main offices, we work and perform on Coast Salish land, and at the border of Capitol Hill—a historic neighborhood for the gay community.
In honor of Pride, our organization will be taking June 2022 as a month of learning, service, and action, in addition to planning further internal staff programming for later in the year.
