STG Dance for PD® at Garfield Community Center located at 2323 E. Cherry St., Seattle
Winter Session: Thursdays, January 6 - March 3, 2022 (no class on 2/24/22).
In partnership with Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation.
STG Dance for PD® classes use dance, live music, and community in a safe and creative environment to support students in developing artistry and grace while addressing such PD-specific concerns as balance, flexibility, coordination, isolation, and gait. Working with professional dancers and teaching artists trained in the Dance for PD® method, participants are inspired to explore movement and music in ways that are refreshing, enjoyable, and stimulating. Whether seated or standing, people with Parkinson’s disease will enjoy this creative and welcoming class that is open to all abilities and mobility of movement. Live music is used to enhance the positive experience this class brings to participants, and all involved. No dance experience is required to participate. The classes are always free.
Please note: To attend in-person Dance for PD® classes, proof of Covid 19 vaccination is required. If a student does not have proof of vaccination, they will be required to show proof of a negative Covid 19 test within 48 hours of each class. Masks are required for all in the class setting, whether vaccinated or not.
An STG Covid officer will be present at each class and checking in students and staff.
