STG Young Ambassadors logo

STG Young Ambassadors is a group of artistic individuals ages 15-20 who represent STG in the Seattle arts community and get a behind-the-scenes experience in preparation for careers in the arts.

The mission of this program is to diversify the pool of applicants for arts industry jobs by providing equitable access to work experience.

Young Ambassadors gives youth access to work experience, professional development meetings, and community events. They have assisted with numerous STG and ECE events such as sensory friendly performances, fundraisers, student matinees, and Instagram takeovers. In meetings, they’ve heard from a panel of local guest artists as well as STG staff, taken Oppression 101 and leadership workshops, worked on interview skills and practiced public speaking. And because community is an integral part of the arts, Young Ambassadors attend an array of monthly STG and community performances together.

COVID-19 UPDATE: the Young Ambassadors 2020-2021 cohort consists of alumni members who are focusing on community video projects and professional development.
