STG Young Ambassadors is a group of 10 -15 artistic individuals who represent the STG Education and Community Programs Department in the Seattle arts community, provide creative input, and support a variety of programs including DANCE This, More Music @ The Moore, Disney Musicals in Schools, AileyCamp, Songwriters Lab, Nights at the Neptune, Re:definition, Student Matinees and more.

Who can apply:
16-20 year olds who have participated in STG programs or are strongly interested in the arts
*note: must be 16 years old by start of program

Program Dates:
January 3rd - June 1st, 2018

Optional Apprenticeships:
June 4th - August 3rd, 2018

Commitment:
- Attend orientation on January 3rd, 2018 at The Paramount Theatre
- Attend meetings every other Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at The Paramount Theatre or Various Program Sites (Starting January 10th, 2018)
- Support or represent STG Education and Community Programs at a minimum of 3 events

 

Application Timeline:

Deadline to Apply: November 17th, 2017
First Round Applicants Notified: November 27th, 2017
Interviews: November 28 - 30th, 2017
Final Applicants Chosen: December 4th, 2017

 

STG Young Ambassadors will focus on these primary goals:
- Community Building
- Leadership
- Advising
- Professional Development
- Social Justice

 

STG Young Ambassadors will have the following opportunities:
- Gain knowledge of STG Education and Community programs (ECP)
- Assist at various ECP events
- Network with professionals and artists in the Seattle arts community
- Apprentice for Music, Dance, Theatre and Community Programs in the summer
- Brainstorm and implement ways ECP can better incorporate a mission of Social Justice to our programming
- Shadow ECP Production rehearsals
- Play a huge role in setting the foundation for future Young Ambassadors
- Connect with other young leaders in the arts
- Aid in selection process of performers for Nights at The Neptune, More Music @ The Moore and DANCE This
- Represent STG at fairs, festivals, teen nights and shows
- Distribute ECP marketing materials
- Polish public speaking and leadership skills
