Join the Seattle Theatre Group family by becoming a volunteer!

 

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) welcomes individuals who are interested in sharing their time and talents. Volunteers are vital in supporting fine arts education and community outreach programs. By participating, you are helping STG keep these historic theatres alive and vibrant.

There are a variety of volunteer activities available to choose from. Come share your talent!

 

Usher: Provide volunteer support at performances in the form of assisting the Front of House staff, stuffing playbill changes, passing out programs, seating of patrons, answering questions, coat check, etc.

Front of House (FOH): Before and during shows the FOH Desk is open to assist patrons with the rental of binoculars and hearing devices, as well as answer questions and provide information about theatre education and fundraising.

Office Assistance: General office assistance for both STG Staff activities and the Volunteer Program.

Archive and Gallery: Assist in staffing during visiting hours and help catalog historic data. The Archive and Gallery is located in the Paramount Tower on the 4th floor and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Research: Research the history of The Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres for archive and maintenance purposes, working closely with the historian and archive administrator.

Tours: Join the team that conducts tours for the general public, students, seniors and business organizations at the historic Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres.

Education: Assist in the development and expansion of STG’s educational programs.

Special Events: Help at fundraisers, opening night galas and other special events.

Organ Maintenance and Restoration: Work with the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society (PSTOS) to keep the Paramount’s historic Mighty Wurlitzer in top playing condition.

Translator: This “on-call” volunteer position is needed to help communicate with performers and/or their staff from a variety of cultures.

Volunteer Council: Provide expertise in the development and further expansion of the Volunteer Program (Candidates are nominated by current Volunteer Council Members).

After your training and before final acceptance into the STG Volunteer Program, all candidates must pass a mandatory background check from the WATCH (Washington Access To Criminal History) program, conducted by the Washington State Patrol.

Volunteer at THING 2020

 

STG is now accepting applications to volunteer at THING, our multidisciplinary event located at Fort Worden in scenic Port Townsend, WA! It will take place August 28-30, 2020.

STG and Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society (PSTOS) are seeking additional volunteers to help maintain the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ at The Paramount Theatre. Bring your skills to the team and help ensure many more years of beautiful music from this historic organ!
