STG Presents Kate Wallich's Industrial Ballet produced by Velocity at The Moore Theatre on March 26, 2016.

This must-see super show is commissioned and produced by Velocity, and underwritten by Case van Rij. A special season event celebrating Velocity | 20 Years.

Kate Wallich, Seattle's wunderkind millennial choreographer, premieres her biggest project to date, Industrial Ballet, in a one-night-only event taking over the historic Moore Theatre.

Inspired by the transgressive industrial music of 80s and 90s, this darkly glittering production brings together Wallich's world-renowned dancers, with stellar Seattle musicians performing a live score by musician/producer Johnny Goss (Cock & Swan, La Luz, Lonesome Shack). Wallich’s captivating brand of movement has been described as mix of virtuosic contemporary ballet, "club kid moves, smooth athleticism, and post-post-modern dance tropes" with an added dose of fashion, highly-crafted design, and pop culture. Wallich is joined onstage by David Harvey (Alonso King/Lines), Patrick Kilbane (Whim W'Him, Northwest Dance Project), Andrew Bartee (PNB, Ballet BC), Thomas House (Kyle Abraham, Aszure Barton & Artists), Lavinia Vago (RUBBERBANDance Group), and Matt Drews (Saint Genet, tEEth, Ate9).

This must see super-show is commissioned and presented by Velocity Dance Center.

KATE WALLICH, named one of Dance magazine's "25 to Watch" internationally in 2015, is a Seattle-based performer and choreographer. In 2010, she began making dance performance and films mostly in collaboration with her company, The YC. Her first evening-length work was commissioned by Velocity Dance Center. She has since been commissioned and presented nationally and internationally most recently by On the Boards. She trained at Cornish College of the Arts.

Seattle musician JOHNNY GOSS is known for his work with dreamy analog-synth band Cock & Swan (with Ola Hungerford) and for producing bands La Luz and Lonesome Shack. Watch Cock & Swan here and check out a Q&A with Goss on KEXP.
