STG Presents dodie at The Showbox on Friday, September 28, 2018.
dodie is a 22 year old singer songwriter from Epping, who has built her growing fanbase independently and organically since she was 16. Originally uploading music on YouTube, dodie has now released 2 EPs which have both charted in the UK, US Billboard, and Australian album charts. Most notably her recent release the ‘You’ EP reaching #6 in the UK Albums Chart in late August of this year.
dodie is very open and engaging with her audience and has shared her personal life in the most deep manner possible. Sharing her experiences with mental health issues, discussing her sexuality as a bisexual, and growing up being bullied are some of the topics that she opens up about to everyone.
Her debut EP ‘Intertwined’ which was released in November 2016 has now amassed over 35 million streams on Spotify, and her latest EP ‘You’ has so far hit over 16 million streams. The ‘Intertwined’ Tour in March earlier this year sold out in 2 hours, a full headline tour across the UK playing to 500-800 capacity rooms. The ‘You’ Tour is due to start with 2 dates in Dublin (extra date added due to popular demand) and the 12 date tour sold out in hours within the first day of release, her headline show at the KOKO sold out in 15 minutes.
dodie has performed her live show across the world and is tapping into the US Market more and more each time. Her SOLD OUT LA show at the Echo was upgraded from a 300 capacity room to a 750 capacity room due to the fast ticket sales and undeniable desire from her audience in the US.
Additionally, dodie released her first book titled ‘Secrets For The Mad: Obsessions, Confessions, and Life Lessons’, a Sunday Times Top 10 Bestseller focusing on dodie offering advice from her experiences growing up, discovering her identity, and mental health struggles.
